Wat Bang Phai

Bang Bua Thong District

Originally known as Wat Bang Phai, this temple was established by a military commander during the Rattanakosin period. A notable feature of the temple is its "temple wall," designed to resemble the fortifications of a military outpost. Within the grounds, you can find the Phra Buddha Chirajanmongkol, a stunning representation of the Emerald Buddha adorned in summer attire, as well as the ancient Phra Phuttharat Thong, enshrined in the old ordination hall, both icons of considerable historical significance that date back hundreds of years. The temple also serves as a center for meditation practices. Traveling to this location is quite simple. Just take the expressway towards Ngamwongwan, heading towards Bang Bua Thong. When you reach the traffic light at Bang Phlu intersection, turn right and continue for about 1 kilometer. The temple will be on your left-hand side.
