Wat Tha Krathiem is a sacred place where many visitors come to pay their respects to Phra Wesak (Vessavana), originally known as Kuvera. He accumulated immense merit in his previous life, which led him to be reborn as King Pimbisara, the ruler of Rajgir. King Pimbisara was a close friend of Prince Siddhartha, who later renounced worldly life and attained enlightenment, becoming the Buddha. The Buddha visited King Pimbisara to provide teachings, resulting in the king reaching the stage of a stream-enterer (Sotapanna). He generously offered the Veluvana Monastery to the Buddha for his residence, which earned him great merit and resulted in a beautiful celestial abode. Additionally, King Pimbisara's frequent acts of charity led to him possessing numerous divine treasures when he ascended to the rank of Phra Wesak, thus enjoying immense power and authority.
