Cholpratan Rangsarit Temple was established in 1959 when M.L. Chuchart Kampu, the Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, visited the Umong Temple in Chiang Mai. There, he attended a Dharma talk by Phra Panyanand Bhikkhu, who was residing at Umong Temple at the time. M.L. Chuchart was deeply impressed by the monk's contemporary teaching methods, which contrasted traditional sermons delivered from a pulpit using palm leaves. Instead, Phra Panyanand adopted a more engaging approach by delivering his talks orally to the public, incorporating relevant examples and current events, which significantly attracted people to embrace Dharma. The Royal Irrigation Department then established a new temple named Cholpratan Rangsarit in Bang Talad Subdistrict, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. In 1960, they invited Phra Panyanand to be the abbot of the temple. Today, Cholpratan Rangsarit Temple is surrounded by a serene atmosphere, offering various activities every Sunday morning starting at 9:00 AM. These activities include chanting, Dharma lectures, and providing meals for the monks in the curved stone courtyard.
