Chomphuwek Temple is an ancient Mon temple located in Nonthaburi province. The temple is situated near Nonthaburi's water airport, not far down the alley. The atmosphere within the temple is serene and shaded by various large trees, making it a quiet place ideal for making merit and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle and traffic of Nonthaburi. Originally named Wat Si Chomphuwek, historical records indicate that a group of Mon people, led by a patriarch named Chompa, settled here after recognizing the area's beautiful hill as a perfect place to rest. The main Buddha statue in both the new and old sanctuaries features Luang Por Chana Mar. Inside, you'll find beautiful paintings that are rare to see, depicting the history of the Buddha and Mother Earth. Additionally, there's an area behind the temple where visitors can feed the cows and buffaloes.
