Currently, Wat Kalantaram has constructed a hall to enshrine the black Buddha statue made of black stone from Nalanda, India, allowing devotees to pay their respects without the need for a journey to India. Today, many Buddhists, upon hearing this news, have traveled to pay homage. Additionally, the construction of the Buriram Phra That Buddha Maha Chedi has commenced, aiming to be an important stupa in the province to house relics and Buddha images from nine different countries. The foundation stone-laying ceremony took place on June 19, 2016, officiated by General Surayud Chulanont, a member of the Privy Council, followed by the pouring of the sacred pillar on April 8, 2018, conducted by Mr. Damrongchai Narumitthakong, the Deputy Governor.
