Bang Khun Phrom Palace is under the care of the Bank of Thailand. Originally situated along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the palace consists of two main halls: the grand hall and the hall built by King Chulalongkorn as a residence for His Royal Highness Prince Bripatr Sukhumbhand, the Duke of Nakhonsawan. After coming under government management, Bang Khun Phrom Palace has served as an official government location until 1945, when the Bank of Thailand began using it as their office. In 1982, it was transformed into the Bank of Thailand Museum. The architecture of Bang Khun Phrom Palace features Baroque and Rococo styles, which can be seen in the pediments and exterior walls. The semicircular windows are adorned with floral decorations and fruits, while the roof is designed in a high gabled style. This European architectural style was popular during the late 19th century, and the palace stands out as an excellent example of this trend. In front of the palace, there is a circular pavilion known as the "Horn Pavilion," styled in European fashion, originally serving as the bandstand for military brass bands during welcoming ceremonies. Inside the palace’s hall, a Ceremonial Staircase features a design where the lower base is wider than the upper tier, a characteristic common in European architecture, similar to the staircase in the Opera Garnier in France. Visitors are allowed to take photographs around the Bang Khun Phrom Palace, but only in designated areas as informed by officials (which includes the lawn and the curved road in front of the palace). Inside the palace, photography is permitted except in the Bripatr exhibition room.
