Pong Lang roundabout

Kalasin, Kalasin District.

The Pong Lang Roundabout is located at the intersection of Kalisinth Road and Chaisunthorn Road in the Kalisinth district. It was established as a memorial in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's visit to perform music, specifically the "Pong Lang" and "Lai Lom Phat Prao," at the Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts on February 26, 1990. The Pong Lang is recognized as the traditional musical instrument of Kalasin province, with its origins traced back to this area. "Khru Pleung Chai Ratsamee," a renowned figure, innovated and developed the instrument from its earlier versions to the Pong Lang we know today. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored as a National Artist in the Performing Arts (Folk Music) category in 1986.

Province: Kalasin
