Wow! If you come to Thong Pha Phum and don’t stop by "Kien Fish Restaurant at Thong Pha Phum," you are really missing out! This is a small restaurant with a warm atmosphere that feels like dining at a close friend's house. The decor features beautifully crafted wooden elements and showcases classic antique collectibles to enjoy. The food here is absolutely fantastic! They have a menu featuring fresh fish from the dam, including fried catfish with garlic, fish maw salad, or the spicy curry of yellow catfish with pickled bamboo shoots that packs a flavorful punch. In addition to fish, there are other must-try dishes like spicy stir-fried wild boar with tender meat or a fresh crispy ferns salad. Importantly, all ingredients are fresh daily, and the prices are excellent considering the generous portions served. Plus, the restaurant offers sweet and juicy watermelon as a complimentary palate cleanser! Getting there is very easy! Kien Fish Restaurant is located just before the Vajiralongkorn Dam; if you’re coming from Thong Pha Phum towards the dam, it will be on your right side with a giant kilometer marker as a landmark. If you're coming down from the Vajiralongkorn Dam, the restaurant will be on your left. It’s convenient both on the way in and on the way back, making it a perfect spot to recharge before heading to Ban Ee Tong or enjoying a meal before returning to Bangkok. You’ll absolutely love it!
