The Buddhist footprint shrine at Wat Phra Phutthabat Ratchaworamaha Wiharn in Saraburi Province is a highly sacred and beautiful place that must not be missed by those who seek merit! The overall atmosphere is peaceful, making it ideal for doing good deeds and admiring the stunning ancient architecture. The shrine itself is built in the Ayutthaya architectural style, standing proudly on a high base that encases the Buddha footprint imprinted on a stone on the mountainside. There are three serpent staircases leading up to the shrine, resembling silver, gold, and crystal stairs connected to heaven. Inside the shrine, decorations of shining mirrors and gold embellishments are contrasted beautifully. Additionally, there are bells around the shrine that can be rung for auspiciousness. Traveling here is convenient; from Bangkok, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car. You can drive along Phahonyothin Road and turn left onto Highway 3020, or take a minibus from Mo Chit or Victory Monument to arrive at Tha Phra Bat, then catch a songthaew to the temple. The annual tradition of paying respects to the Buddha footprint is held regularly here, a tradition that has been passed down since the Ayutthaya era. Come and experience the beauty and accumulate merit here; you will not be disappointed!
