The Laem Sor Pagoda is located in the Na Muang sub-district of Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province, with an estimated age of around 1907 in the Buddhist calendar (B.E. 2450). The construction was led by Luang Pu Phet Tisso. This pagoda was built using bricks made from cut coral stones instead of traditional clay bricks. It is said that during the construction of the Laem Sor Pagoda, people from all corners of Koh Samui united to help. Each day, no fewer than 1,000 villagers formed long lines to transport the bricks from the ground up to the hilltop. After six months of diligent work, the construction of the pagoda was completed, and in 1908 (B.E. 2451), the sacred relics were brought from Sri Lanka and enshrined within it. Later, in 1967 (B.E. 2510), Phra Phong Daeng constructed the Tisso Chedi at the beach below and relocated the sacred relics to this new pagoda. Finally, in 2004 (B.E. 2547), the Fine Arts Department undertook restoration efforts to return the Laem Sor Pagoda to its original glory.
