Phutthamonthon is an important site for Buddhism, located in the Salaya subdistrict of Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province. Spanning an area of 2,500 rai, it was established to commemorate the semi-centenary of Buddhism in 1957. The prominent statue of the Buddha in a graceful posture here is known as Phra Sri Sakya Tottapanjana, which stands as the central figure of Phutthamonthon Sutrath. This remarkable piece was designed by Professor Silpa Pirasri. The statue is particularly distinguished by its flowing robe that appears lifelike. It was completed and inaugurated in 1982 in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Rattanakosin Kingdom.
