Originally located on Phra Phanwasa Road in the Tha Phi Liang sub-district, the museum has now moved to a new government center along the Suphan-Chai Nat Road (340). The building is a concrete structure designed to blend traditional Thai architecture with the look of a farmer's rice barn. This museum focuses exclusively on rice cultivation, without showcasing ancient artistic artifacts. On the ground floor, visitors can explore the history of rice farming, the tools used in agriculture, the traditions and lifestyles of farmers, and the significance of rice in the past. A particularly intriguing exhibit features clay pots discovered in Bang Poon, Phihan Daeng sub-district, which may serve as evidence of the Royal Rice Cultivation Ceremony during the Ayutthaya period. The upper floor presents the royal practices of Thai monarchs from the past to the present, highlighting their role as patrons who support and advance the livelihood of Thai farmers and the development of national agriculture. Noteworthy is a display depicting a royal agricultural initiative by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in 1986 at the Bueng Phai Kaek demonstration farm in Don Pho Thong sub-district. He personally participated in composting, sowing, and harvesting rice, and the museum preserves the tools and equipment utilized during this effort. Additionally, the ground floor houses a research room dedicated to further academic inquiries regarding the objects on display. The museum is open for visits from Wednesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and public holidays) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For inquiries, you can reach them at 035-522191.
