Located along Phra Athit Road, close to Fort Phra Sumen, this site has a long historical legacy dating back to the reign of King Rama I. In 2000, the Fine Arts Department registered this place as an ancient monument. Today, it serves as a tourist attraction within the Rattanakosin Island area and a center for community cultural education. It is considered a modern museum that interestingly integrates object displays with storytelling that highlights the historical essence of the Banglamphu community. The exhibitions within the museum are divided into four main sections: 1. **The Queen Sirikit Gallery** - An exhibition honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. 2. **The Rattanakosin Fortress Exhibition** - This exhibit relates to the Rattanakosin era, featuring replicas of city walls, canals, and fortifications. 3. **The Treasury Department Exhibition** - Showcasing the roles and responsibilities of the Treasury Department, this section is closely tied to the daily lives of Thai society, including coin production, currency management, care and exhibition of state valuables, and management of public assets. 4. **The Banglamphu Community Exhibition** - Highlighting the historical significance of Banglamphu as a hub of trade and entertainment, this area reflects the rich cultural and ethnic diversity that has been preserved and passed down through generations. The museum is open for visits from Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Saturday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed on Mondays).
