Thung Si Mueang is located in the heart of the city, right in front of the provincial hall. This public park is a beautiful landscape and serves as a relaxation spot for locals, as well as a venue for various cultural festivals. Within Thung Si Mueang, you can find exquisite sculptures of carved wax candles, a health garden, and a playground for children. Additionally, the park houses significant attractions such as the City Pillar Shrine, the statue of Phra Phutthum Vararaj Suriyawong (known as Chao Kamphong), and the sculpture of Phra Mahavirot (Tisso Uan), a revered monk esteemed for his expertise in both scriptural studies and meditation. There is also a monument recognizing the good deeds of the local community, which was erected by foreign prisoners of war during World War II to commemorate the kindness and virtues of the people of Ubon Ratchathani. Moreover, Thung Si Mueang is a key location for major festivals in Ubon Ratchathani, including the famous Wax Candle Festival.
