Located in the area of Tha Song Yang Sub-district, this mountain is the highest point in the region and is known in the indigenous Pga K'nyau language as "Tu Le Ko," which means "Golden Mountain." According to the stories from the Pga K'nyau people in Mae Chuang Village, Moo 8 of Tha Song Yang Sub-district, the name originated from the phenomenon observed during the dry season, when the mountain gradually transforms into a golden-yellow hue, mirroring the color of the grass that blankets its slopes. Some even claim that the "Golden Mountain" not only refers to the mountain's appearance but extends to the streams as well, which take on a golden-yellow tint from the leaves that fall into the waters. Doi Tu Le boasts a diverse geographical landscape that can make it difficult to fathom the natural processes that occur within this mountainous region. At its peak, Doi Tu Le rises to an elevation of 1,350 meters above sea level. Visiting this remarkable site requires a trekking journey of 2 to 3 days, so tourists are advised to prepare appropriate hiking gear and ensure they are in good physical condition for the long trek ahead.
