Dim Khai Bangkung was a naval military camp during the reign of King Ekathotsarot. At that time, King Mangra of Burma ordered the mobilization of troops to invade the Kingdom of Ayutthaya from two directions. He appointed Mang Maha Narath as the commander to march into the southern region, attacking cities such as Mared, Tanaw Sri, Huai Tong Ja, Chumphon, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Phetchaburi before regrouping his forces on the ships at Dong Rang Nong Khao in Kanchanaburi. Upon learning of this news, King Ekathotsarot commanded the mobilization of his own troops to confront the enemy. The land forces were stationed at an encampment in Tamru, Ratchaburi, while the naval forces set up camp at Bangkung in Samut Songkhram. Additionally, Phaya Rattanathibet was instructed to establish another base in Thonburi.
