House of Koo Ka Sing, Koo Ka Sing Sub-district, Kaset Wisai District, Roi Et Province The area where the House of Koo Ka Sing is located today has a rich historical background, as it was once an ancient community dating back to the late prehistoric period and continuing into the historical era of Khmer culture. Initially, this region was a dense jungle, uninhabited by people. The area surrounding the Koo shrine was covered in bamboo forest, and it is said that during certain seasons, hunters would come, creating temporary shelters to catch animals, or it would serve as a hideout for bandits coming from the Surin province. Special characteristics of the community: This is a large community with a tightly-knit kinship structure, to the extent that everyone in the village is considered related. The villagers respect their elders, creating a peaceful society free from youth conflicts. This is particularly evident during festivals, where issues involving the youth are non-existent. The primary sources of income are from selling fragrant jasmine rice, offering tractor plowing services (with the highest number of tractors in the area), and weaving silk. Tourism activities within the community: 1. Enjoying dinner while watching a small-scale light and sound performance in Koo Ka Sing. 2. Young tour guides leading tours of ancient sites. 3. Walking tours of agricultural gardens. 4. Experiencing traditional paper-cutting with local wisdom. 5. Observing silk weaving or trying your hand at weaving silk. 6. Visiting silk weaving exhibitions. 7. Exploring the Heritage Wisdom Museum.
