Originally known as the abandoned Wat Si Khun Muang, this temple was revitalized in 1906 by Phaya Sunthorn Thepkijarak, the governor of Nakhon Phanom. He invited the monk Chan Khemiyo to establish a Dhammayut temple, marking the first of its kind in Nakhon Phanom. Through his knowledge and dedication, he transformed Wat Si Khun Muang into a thriving temple, eventually renaming it Wat Si Thep Praditharam, a name it retains to this day.
