The first museum in Thailand dedicated to showcasing geology, botany, and marine zoology Many people remember Sattahip as a military area, but it's worth noting that this coastal district boasts stunning beaches that rival any other in Chonburi province. While enjoying the beautiful sea, I highly recommend taking some time to visit the Thai Marine and Island Natural History Museum, a significant learning center located in the Khao Ma Ja area of Sattahip, packed with fascinating knowledge. Established by the Royal Thai Navy, the Thai Marine and Island Natural History Museum is the first of its kind in Thailand to encompass and exhibit aspects of geology, botany, and marine zoology. It is part of the plant genetic conservation project initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 1993. The museum aims to foster understanding and raise awareness about the importance of various plant genetics found in Thailand. The museum features beautifully lined architecture on a hillside. If you find that you have ample time during your visit, you can also take a boat trip to Samaesarn Island on the same day. *Must-Visit Attractions:* - The Royal Majesty Tribute Hall, which presents the history of the project and the interconnection within ecosystems. - The Wisdom Hall, which offers a viewpoint of Samaesarn Village and Rhinoceros Island, along with information about forest ecosystems, plant species, and animals. - The Ocean Potential Protection Hall, the highest building, showcases exhibitions through multimedia and provides a significant viewpoint of the surroundings. *Admission Fees:* Adults: 50 Baht Foreigners: 100 Baht Out-of-uniform Military Personnel (with ID): 30 Baht Children (15 years and younger): 20 Baht *Noteworthy Activities:* - Take a boat trip to tour Samaesarn Island.
