The Srinakarin Dam is the largest rock-fill dam with a clay core in Thailand, standing at a height of 140 meters from its foundation. It stretches 610 meters in length and is 15 meters wide, covering a reservoir area of 419 square kilometers, with an impressive capacity of 17.745 billion cubic meters, ranking first in terms of reservoir volume. Srinakarin Dam is recognized as the first multi-purpose dam of the Mae Klong River Basin Development Project. It was constructed on the Kwai Yai River near Ban Chao Naen in the Tha Kadran Subdistrict of Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi Province. Blocking the flow of the Kwai Yai River, it is the eighth dam among the 17 dams built by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The dam serves multiple purposes, enhancing the lives of local residents while promoting the area as a beautiful tourist destination.
