This monument was erected to commemorate the honor, bravery, and sacrifices of the revered Thai kings. Today, it has become a place of respect and homage for the people of Phetchabun, as well as for travelers passing through the area. The statue of Phra Khun Pha Muang stands prominently in a commanding pose, with his right hand firmly holding a sword plunged into the ground, while his left hand points downward. Phra Khun Pha Muang (the lord of the city of Rad) played a crucial role in establishing the Sukhothai Kingdom around the 18th Buddhist century. He worked alongside Phra Khun Bang Klang Hao, the lord of Bang Yang, to lead troops in a campaign that expelled the Khmer ruling power from the Sukhothai territory. He subsequently crowned Phra Khun Bang Klang Hao as the king of Sukhothai, bestowing upon him the name "Sri Indra Bodhi Thratit." This monument serves as a sacred site for the people of Phetchabun and for travelers journeying along this route.
