Chumphon Railway Station is located on Nawamin Ruanjai Road, Na Thung Subdistrict, Mueang Chumphon District, Chumphon Province. It is a Class 1 station on the Southern Railway Line. Chumphon Station serves as the first refueling point on the Southern Railway after departing from Bangkok, Thonburi Station, and the Phahonyothin freight area. All trains coming from the southern line are required to stop at Chumphon Station before they continue to Bangkok, Thonburi Station, and the Phahonyothin freight terminal. In the future, Chumphon Station may also become a junction in the Chumphon to Ranong Deep-Sea Port railway project.
