Wat Phra That Doi Wa is a temple located adjacent to the Mae Sai border checkpoint leading into Myanmar. Overall, it is a beautiful temple with stunning views, allowing visitors to overlook both Thailand and Myanmar from its grounds. This place serves as a spiritual center for Buddhists. Nearby, you can find a market and coffee shops that open early in the morning, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast of "kai krata," or Thai-style fried eggs. The vendors here are cheerful and friendly. Wat Phra That Doi Wa houses the Doi Wa reliquary, which is believed to be nearly as ancient as the more famous Doi Tung reliquary. This sacred site is situated on the peak of Doi Wa, while the main hall and monastic area are located at the foot of the hill. Visitors wishing to pay their respects must climb the stairs to the summit, where they can enjoy panoramic views of both sides of the river and take in the scenery all around.
