Located on Phadungphanit Road in the Nai Mueang sub-district, this temple is a third-class royal monastery known originally as Wat Hua Rot, which was later renamed Wat Buraphaphiraram. It is home to the tallest Buddha statue in Thailand, known as “Phra Phuttha Rattanamongkhon Mahamuni” or “Luang Por Yai.” This remarkable statue, constructed from reinforced concrete, stands at an impressive height of 59 meters and 20 centimeters from the feet to the top of the head, reaching a total height of 67 meters and 85 centimeters. Behind the statue, sacred relics, brought from India, are enshrined, and beneath the base, there is a museum dedicated to the statue. Luang Por Yai is held in great reverence by the people of Roi Et. Additionally, the temple grounds feature a Buddhist History Park, a missionary center, a school for Dharma studies, and a shrine for Phra Mae Sakkad, which is also respected by the locals.
