Wat Tinakornnimit

Suan Yai Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District.

Wat Thinkorn Nimit, originally named "Wat Bang Duan," got its name from the canal that branches off from the Chao Phraya River in the area where the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Station is currently located. This canal flows eastward along the temple's front and curves around to the vicinity of the temple itself, forming the Bang Duan Canal. In the past, locals commonly referred to areas along the waterway as "Bang," such as Bang Prak, Bang Tanao Si, and Bang Kwang. Thus, the area where the temple is situated became known as Bang Duan, leading to the canal being called the Bang Duan Canal, and the temple ultimately taking the name "Wat Bang Duan."

Province: Nonthaburi
