Wat Tham Pha Chom in Chiang Rai is a must-visit destination! Known as the "Northernmost Temple of Siam," it is nestled on the Naga Sleeping Mountain range, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape that resemble a dragon, in accordance with feng shui principles. The overall atmosphere of the temple is peaceful and serene, surrounded by various types of trees, making it an ideal place for meditation and vipassana practice. Inside Tham Pha Chom, you'll find stunning stalactites and stalagmites, as well as important Buddha images such as the Reclining Buddha and Luang Po Sai Rung, which visitors can pay their respects to. Additionally, there is a relic museum that collects sacred relics, ashes, hair, and ancient pottery for educational purposes. At the summit, you can find a large statue of "Phra Buddha Phichit Mar Prathan Phra," from which you can also enjoy the view of the town of Mae Sai in Myanmar. Getting there is quite easy. Wat Tham Pha Chom is located near the Mae Sai market. When you are close to the bridge that crosses into Myanmar, you will see a sloped road and clear signage for the temple. You can drive there in no time, or take a tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi. The temple is open for visitors every day from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
