Recent reports of large sinkholes may be attributed to geological changes, which can be better understood through further exploration and study at the Mineral and Rock Museum or the Geological Resources Museum. These institutions were established to serve as centers for the collection and dissemination of knowledge related to geology and geological resources, particularly minerals and rocks. The museums aim to foster public appreciation for geological resources, encouraging collective conservation efforts. Designed to be a comprehensive and engaging geological museum, it offers an interactive experience for visitors. Inside, you will find an array of exhibits featuring minerals, rocks, fossils, and ancient tools made from various geological materials, organized into eight distinct zones: 1. Zone 1: The history of the museum 2. Zone 2: Geological history, showcasing the formation of the Earth and the movement of its crust 3. Zone 3: Mineral resources, including gemstones and precious stones, their various uses, fuel minerals, and the mining industry 4. Zone 4: Rocks and groundwater 5. Zone 5: Natural fuels 6. Zone 6: Evolution of life forms 7. Zone 7: Geology of Thailand 8. Zone 8: Applied geology Additionally, there is a special exhibition currently featuring dinosaurs in Thailand. The museum is located on the first floor of the Emerald Building at the Paleontological Research and Geological Museum adjacent to the Department of Geological Resources on Rama 6 Road, Ratchathewi, Bangkok, directly across from Mahidol University.
