Currently, Phanom Rung Historical Park is under consideration to be designated as a World Heritage site, just like the temples in the Ratchamaka group. It is one of the most famous Khmer temples in Thailand and ranks as one of the most significant tourist destinations in Buriram Province. Moreover, it serves as an important symbol for the province, even featuring as the backdrop for the emblem of Buriram United Football Club.
