Ban Kham Pun, located in Warin Chamrap District, is renowned for its production and preservation of the traditional fabrics of Ubon Ratchathani. The village invites visitors to appreciate its rich local culture, which has been upheld for generations. Here, you'll find exquisite architecture, valuable ancient textiles, and unique weaving techniques that define Ban Kham Pun, alongside a variety of other artistic endeavors. Situated within a traditional Isan-style building, Ban Kham Pun serves as both a production site and a learning center for the time-honored process of Thai silk weaving. This knowledge has been passed down through the years to preserve the local wisdom of the community. Today, the current artisan mentor is Mrs. Kham Pun Srisa, an acclaimed figure in the cultural sector, recognized in the Visual Arts - Weaving category in 1994, along with her son Mr. Meechai Taesujariya, a distinguished artist of Ubon Ratchathani in 2001. He is also credited with the invention and design of the lotus petal pattern, a hallmark textile of Ubon Ratchathani. Additionally, Ban Kham Pun serves as the family home of the "Ban Kham Pun" family, making it a vibrant center of heritage and creativity.
