Muang On Cave, originally known as "Doi Sila Cave," is located in Mae On District, Chiang Mai. This large cave sits on a limestone mountain range surrounded by various rock formations. The entrance to the cave features a staircase leading down to a spacious cavern adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites, some of which evoke imaginative shapes like seals and five-headed elephants. At the heart of the cave lies the "Phra That Numpa," a natural pagoda that serves as a sacred site within the cave. The walls of the cave are home to seated and reclining Buddha statues. This cave was once a retreat for Vipassana meditation led by the revered monk, Kruba Srivichai.
